Tips When Wanting To Travel Light

If your going travelling now or in the summer, this post is worth a read. So I hope your sitting back on your lazy Sunday evening before your busy week starts with a cup of tea (or even glass of wine) in hand. Travelling is something we all look forward to, its a break away from reality and a time to spend with a loved one getting to make memories. We want to stay comfortable but still look great in our pictures but its sadly not like home - we cant just pick put an outfit from our wardrobe suiting how we feel or whats the weather going to be like. We have to bring the correct items in our luggage which we can wear throughout our holiday, something practical, something suiting the climate and the activities your going to pursue.

First of all we need to think of the weather - if your going to a hot climate bring clothes and shoes to suit, same goes to a cold climate. Going on a city break? Bring one jacket for dressy wear, this can be a faux fur, leather jacket or a bomber jacket of any kind. This will do you at night when going for dinner and you can also wear it to the airport to save space. Bring a light jacket with a hood in case the weather takes a turn and your out exploring because the last thing you need is getting your hair wet.

Bring more tops than trousers. Jeans and pants take up the most room. They can be hard to fold, so bring maybe three pairs so you can mix and match with your easy to fold tops and jumpers.

Keep dresses and skirts limited ladies. Every time I go somewhere, I tend to over-pack dresses which I don't end up wearing because I either want to stay warm or I want to stay casual. Keep your look limited and if you do end up bringing some make sure to only bring 2-3 dresses depending on how long you are there for.

Only bring two pairs of shoes in your case. After all, staying comfortable is essential especially with the amount of walking, a pair of runners or boots depending on your style will keep you looking and staying relaxed for the day.

Fold your clothing items as small as you can get them and do not over-pack. Keep your clothes, shoes, underwear, PJ'S, hair appliances in your case and keep your make-up, perfume and cosmetics in your large handbag your going to bring with you. I would also advice bringing a small clutch bag for travelling in the day for your money, phone, lipstick and passport.

Last but not least, make sure you have room in your case because remember your not going to a deserted island and I'm sure your going to see something you like to bring home. When I was in Italy I had no room to bring home stuff and I was so upset because of this (the shops in Italy are amazing). So don't do what I did and make sure to have lots of room in your case.

Wherever you tend on going, I hope this helps!
Stay comfortable and stylish,
